MEDIA CREATES DIGITAL DISPLAY “FIRSTS” FOR
THE NEW WYNN LAS VEGAS HOTEL AND CASINO
September,
2005 --- BEACHWOOD, OHIO --- EDR Media has recently
completed a
groundbreaking digital media project for one of the
world’s most highly anticipated
destination resorts – Wynn Las Vegas. As part
of its vision to take the casino
experience to a whole new level, Wynn Las Vegas asked
EDR to create, integrate,
and trigger dynamic digital display messages in ways
that had never been done
before in the gaming industry.
A major focus of the project was the resort’s
2,000 video poker and slot machines.
To replace the traditional flat signage, EDR worked
with Wynn Las Vegas’s creative
director to design and produce dazzling 3D animations
identifying the different
games and denominations. The animations are displayed
on slot-topper LCD
displays. Over 75 of these displays are installed throughout
the casino floor. Then
EDR’s programmers broke new ground by making the
screens dynamic --
integrating them with in-house slot data systems so
that they can display jackpot
wins virtually in real time. The result takes the gaming
environment to new heights
of fun and surprise, as all casino visitors share in
the excitement of jackpot wins as
they happen.
Other integration efforts include screens that dynamically
display the wait status for
Texas Hold’em poker tournaments, and a program
that interrupts the in-house
audio system with custom music to announce that Bonus
Bingo, a game unique to
Wynn Las Vegas, is now being played. All media installations
were on-line for
Opening Day in April, 2005.
The 2.7-billion-dollar luxury hotel and casino resort
is Las Vegas’s preeminent
destination. It features more than 2,700 deluxe rooms,
an 18-hole golf course, its
own private mountain and lake, and 76,000 square feet
of retail space, including a
Ferrari and Maserati dealership.
“We are thrilled that Wynn Las Vegas recognized
EDR’s digital display experience
and electronic branding capabilities,” states
Peter T. Vrettas, EDR’s ceo. “It has
been very satisfying to help the resort take slots gaming
to the next level of
excitement. And it’s an honor to be associated
with an organization known
worldwide for its commitment to delivering only the
finest – at every level of the
visitor’s experience.”
EDR Media develops, produces, and manages high-end digital
signage networks
for casinos, restaurants, and major retailers, including
Best Buy and Costco. In
addition, EDR produces a broad range of digital media
programs including
broadcast television shows, radio and television commercials,
and business media
programs. Full-service audio and video production services
are provided on-site at
the firm’s Beachwood Studios Production Center.
